Common problems in the sampling process of packaging boxes

Sampling is an essential part of the packaging box customization process. Many customers who have done product packaging know that looking at the design effect solely from the plane cannot see the effect presented by the product. Therefore, after finalizing the plane design, making a real sample is the most effective way to showcase the characteristics of the product. SINST packaging technicians will analyze various problems that may occur during the sampling process.

1. Size issue:

The accuracy of the size of the packaging box is crucial. Once there is a problem, it may affect the placement effect of the product. Therefore, before making a sample, it is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the size of the packaging box;

2. Selection of sampling materials:

Unqualified or poor quality packaging materials can affect the service life and protective effect of the packaging box. During the sampling process, try to choose materials that are the same as those used in the bulk production, so that the effect presented is the same as that of the bulk production in the later stage. However, special processes such as hot stamping and UV cannot be fully used in the sampling process. Printing alone cannot achieve these processes and can only be replaced by printing colors. All of these need to be informed to the customer in advance.

3. Graphic quality issues: If the graphic quality on the packaging box is not clear enough, it will reduce the aesthetics of the packaging box, affect brand image and sales. Before sampling, it is necessary to optimize and adjust the graphics to ensure that the color and clarity meet the requirements.

4. Printing issues:

Poor printing quality can affect the uneven coloring or color difference of the packaging box, and may even cause blurry text or unclear patterns. Before sampling, it is necessary to conduct a printing quality check to ensure that the printing effect meets the standards.

5. The difference between sample effect and bulk production

Nowadays, for the sake of convenience and speed, samples are cut by laser cutting machines without the need for die-cutting plates. The disadvantage is that it is not as standardized as the size specifications of bulk products. If the customer requests a printing machine to make a solid sample, it will take a long time and incur high costs. In terms of color, the image printed by the printer is different from the printed one. The box size and verification content are determined by sampling, and whether it is machine sampling or printer sampling is determined according to customer needs.

During the sampling process, it is necessary to comprehensively consider and predict the above issues, prevent possible problems, make timely adjustments and improvements to ensure that the final sample meets the requirements, satisfies consumer needs, and enhances the competitiveness and market share of the product.
