How to avoid delamination during the production process of color boxes

In the process of color box printing, in order to ensure that the printed matter is not scratched during circulation, and to improve the waterproof and moisture-proof performance and product aesthetics of the printed matter, the surface of the printed matter is usually decorated, such as film coating and polishing, in order to achieve protection and beauty. However, the affinity between varnish and paper is not strong, and there are often cases of glue cracking when pasting boxes; After laminating, the surface tension and surface of the film will undergo different changes under different conditions, and the adhesive is not easily able to penetrate the plastic film to reach the paper, so the bonding strength will not be very high. To avoid delamination, measures can be taken from aspects such as materials, adhesives, processes, and environment:

1. In terms of materials:

• Choose the appropriate paper: Ensure the quality of the paper is good, with a smooth surface, no shedding of powder, no wrinkles, and other issues. Different paper materials have different absorbency and adaptability to adhesive, so it is necessary to choose the appropriate paper according to actual needs. For example, for paper with a smoother surface, a stronger adhesive should be selected.

2. In terms of glue:

Correct selection of glue: Choose the appropriate glue based on factors such as the material, purpose, and usage environment of the color box. For example, for color boxes that have undergone surface coating, polishing, and other treatments, it is necessary to choose glue that can penetrate the surface layer; For color boxes that need to be used in low or high temperature environments, it is necessary to choose adhesives that are resistant to low or high temperatures.

Control the quality of glue: Ensure the stability of the quality of glue, and conduct quality testing on the glue when purchasing it. At the same time, it is necessary to store and use the glue according to the instructions, avoiding the influence of factors such as direct sunlight, high temperature, and humidity on the glue.

Ensure moderate adhesive application: Excessive or insufficient adhesive application can affect the bonding effect. Excessive application of glue can cause glue to overflow, affecting the appearance of the color box, and may result in problems such as excessive thickness and hardening of the glue layer after drying, leading to delamination; The amount of glue applied is too small, and the adhesive strength of the glue is insufficient to firmly bond the color box together. Therefore, it is necessary to control the amount of glue applied based on factors such as the size and material of the color box.

3. In terms of craftsmanship:

• Increase the pressure and time: After pasting the color box, it is necessary to perform pressure treatment to ensure that the glue can fully penetrate into the paper and improve the bonding effect. The pressing force should be moderate, too much may damage and too little may not achieve good bonding effect; The pressing time should also be long enough, usually determined based on the drying speed and bonding strength of the adhesive.

• Surface treatment: For some color box materials that are difficult to bond, such as laminated or glossy paper, surface treatment techniques such as plasma treatment can be used to improve the surface energy of the material, enhance the adhesion of the adhesive, and avoid delamination.

4. In terms of environment:

Control the temperature of the production environment: Temperature has a significant impact on the bonding effect of glue. At low temperatures, the fluidity of the adhesive deteriorates and the bonding strength decreases; In high temperature environments, the drying speed of glue accelerates, which may lead to weak bonding. Therefore, to control the temperature of the production environment, it is generally advisable to maintain it at 20 ℃ -25 ℃.
